About Walk Past
Walk Past is a collection of audio walking tours created by Emmy Award–winning journalist Dan Sutherland-Weiser.

Curiosity has always driven his work - curiosity about cities, neighborhoods, and the overlooked stories that quietly shape them.
Dan lives in Baltimore’s Little Italy. He has also lived in Philadelphia, Jacksonville, Florida, Hartford, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Sacramento, and Washington DC.

Each city revealed the same truth: the most compelling stories aren’t always the ones on the plaques. They’re woven into rowhouses, park paths, church steps, and waterfronts.

After decades in broadcast journalism, Dan began creating self-guided walking tours for friends, blending rigorous reporting with a lifelong love of movement. What started informally became Walk Past - thoughtfully produced city tours designed to be experienced on foot, at your own pace.

Each tour is meticulously researched, drawing from original sources and firsthand accounts whenever possible. The storytelling reflects the discipline of a newsroom: clear, grounded, and carefully structured. But it’s delivered in a way that feels immediate - unfolding in real time as you move through a neighborhood.

Whether you’re exploring Baltimore walking tours or discovering a new city, Walk Past invites you to hear something you may never have known — and to share the story long after the walk ends.

Tours are available on VoiceMap.
